CARM's Impact on Canadian Imports
All imports into Canada are now affected by the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) Assessment and Revenue Management (CARM) system. Every commercial importer has been impacted, and registration for the CARM Client Portal is mandatory.
Importers are now responsible for posting their own financial security to participate in the Release Prior to Payment (RPP) program. Without compliance, your shipments may face delays, and late penalties could apply.
Here’s what you need to know:
Grant Us Authority: To allow us to continue managing your imports, you must grant us authority through the CARM Client Portal (CCP).
Secure Your Imports: Businesses are now responsible for their own financial security with the CBSA. This is required to continue using Release Prior to Payment (RPP).
Get Registered: A business account on the CARM Client Portal is essential for all importers. If you haven't already, Please allow us to assist you with your company's registration today.
New Forms, New Process: The new Commercial Accounting Declaration (CAD) is replacing the old B3 and B2 forms. We will manage this new process on your behalf.
